Mech-Tool Season disrupted by Horrid Weather

On a night of torrential rain Mech-Tool A Teams game was called off at the last minute leaving Barry Hopkins Jnr to play Bill Morland in the EBA Two Wood.

Depite Barry leading 20-17 he couldn’t manage to beat a resilient Bill.

Mech-Tool B got off to a reasonable start at the JUC Club, they only managed 1 point thanks to Jim Rodmell and Richard Woodward but as the team were 2 players short this was no disaster as the other 2 games were closely matched.

Scott Morland played his EBA Singles last night and was only beaten after a severe downpour disrupted his rhythm when leading 14-13. The only consolation was he didn’t break his neck after flying across the green on his backside delivering one of his last bowls on a flooded green!!

Mech-Tool Knocked Out

Friday night saw a defeat in the League Knock-out.

Despite a close contest with Middleton St George, Scott Morland’s rink was hammered by Ken Storey. He took full blame as George Fenley and Richard Woodward had very good games.

Barry Snr won and Jnr was very unlucky in a narrow defeat.

Mech-Tool Meeting

Barry Hopkins has arranged a meeting for all of those players playing in the Mech-Tool Teams this year.

It is a good opportunity for everyone to meet and find out which teams they are in etc.

Make sure your all there!! - 7.00pm Thursday at Darlington & District Indoor Bowls Club.

Works League Meeting

After many heated discussions the Works League Clubs voted Mech-Tool South Park as members of the League.

We will have 2 teams running as one division of 12 teams, then after playing each team once we will play 5 other opposition depending on which half of the table we lie.

Mech-Tool South Park

As you may have heard we have formed a new Works League Team called Mech-Tool South Park formed by Barry Hopkins.

We are awaiting confirmation from the league but has requested the entry of 2 teams A & B.

This is a great achievement for the club and going forward will benefit us in increasing membership and extra financial backing.

We still require many players to fill the B Team so please contact us if you wish to play.
