Thursday night saw a terrible result in the 1st game of the Darlington & District league. This brings the team back to reality that life back in the 2nd Division won’t be as easy as it seems.
Although Spennymoor B are contenders to bounce straight back into the top flight, with this game at home we really should be producing better.
With Simon Keay making his debut alongside Paul Kelly and Scott Morland, this rink was always going to find it hard but found themselves on a lashing from the opposition.
Bill Morland, Barry Hopkins Jnr and Peter Boyle lost by 5 but never looke dliely to sneak back into the game.
Glyn Jones, Stan Jenkins and Paul Dobson couldn’t quite finish off a resilient comeback and lost on the final end.
Also Barry Hopkins, Carl and Simon Brodie threw away a comfortable lead and also ended in defeat but never mind, we live to fight another day in our away game at Central (North Lodge) where Andrew Crowe is set to make his debut in the rink Bill and Scott Morland.
