Locomotion!

We are entering a team in the Darlington Indoor Locomotive Trophy.  We have entered this competition many times over the years without success. We once made the semi-finals to be slaughtered by Hundens!

This time it is only 2 rinks of 3 bowlers which should make it more interesting - as we will only have 2 rinks that can get beaten!

Title nearly sealed

The Saturday league sees our South Park B Team topping after a great win against Cummins B.  Richard Copeland, Sandra Hopkins and Keith Burton all played well to turn on the style against a strong Cummins rink playing with ringers!

Unfortunately the B Team were let down by our own A as they let 2nd place Hutton Rudby beat them despite being 9-4 up after the half way mark.

Saturday Slump

Our indoor season started with so much promise. However both South Park A & B have slumped to consecutive defeats meaning Cummins are becoming favorites for the league title.

In the after winter indoor session we are considering the teams to be named South Park and Mech-tool to give both teams acknowledgment over the cold season.

Goodbye Jim

This month we say goodbye to Jim Rodmell who is leaving Darlington and moving back to his home City of York. We are sad to see him go but wish him well. Hopefully he will come back to visit as he has been a pleasure to have as part of our team. He has been a loyal member and the perfect gentleman while at our club, if all members showed the same attitude the club would be great again. Hopefully he will keep in touch and any bowls club he joins in York would be very lucky to have him.
