The draw has been made for this years EBA Competitions giving us some tricky ties:
Singles:-
C. Northam V S. Morland – A tricky away tie to a very good young player of the RA.
C. Black V B. Hopkins – A very difficult game at the RA for Barry against the RA club champion.
V. Rewcastle V B. Hopkins Jnr – A tough starter for Barry against a fellow County C Team player – no games away at Barnard Castle are easy.
J. Hills V W. Morland – This looks to be a really exciting game and a difficult one for Bill at the RA.
Pairs:-
S. Morland/D. Neil V H. Davidson – No games at this level are easy but Dave & Scott would be upset not to defeat these two Barnard Castle lads at home.
B. Hopkins/W. Morland V Winner of A. Kirtland & K. Storey – This looks like another exciting tie where Baz and Bill need to make home advantage count.
A. Dobie V B. Hopkins Jnr – Another very difficult away game at Barnard Castle but certainly winnable.
S. Brodie/A. Bell V G. Peacock/S. Clarke – This is an incredibly hard game for the 2 EBA virgins but will be a fantastic experience for them.
Triples:-
S. Morland/W. Morland/D.Neil V B. Hopkins/B. Hopkins Jnr – This will be a good tie but its a shame our lads have to meet each other in this early stage.
Fours:-
H. Davidson V B. Hopkins Jnr – this is a good draw for little Baz but its a shame that again it is at Barnard Castle.
S. Morland/D. Neil/W. Morland/B. Hopkins V Winner of above match – Another shame that our teams could meet but if Barry Jnr got through one of us would be in the County stages.
Two Wood Seasons:-
S. Morland V G. Peacock or S. Clarke – A difficult game either way but at least its at home.
B. Hopkins Jnr V W. Morland – Another of our 2 lads meet, this would be a giant killing if Baz could pull this off.
B. Hopkins V Winner of above – Certainly a challenge to play his son or Bill Morland – one to look forward to either way.
U25 Junior Singles
B. Hopkins Jnr V C. Northam – A difficult tie for Baz but if he can win this he could go all the way
R. Woodward V Winner of above – already in the district final, this could be the year we see the best of Richard so we hope Baz makes it through to have an all South Park Final.
