South Park Bowls Club

As you will see over the winter there is little news to tell but we have an update on our league situation but not as we had hoped.

We are still unsure as to whether we have won the league due to the incompetence of the Darlington and District League.

Another variable has raised its ugly head as well. You may know we have offered the GPO the opportunity to join our club to save them from leaving the league. This decision has been delayed until January with an expected outcome that they will not come and join us. If the GPO drop out of the league only the Divison 2 winners will be promoted and not the runners-up.

We live in hope that we have won the league and will hear soon!!

The honours board at South Park has now been updated with the 2005 honoraria by James Paterson who kindly does this for us every year.

Also you may have heard the locks have been changed at the park. New keys will be distributed when possible to all members. I currently hold a key if anyone requires access to their lockers.

We also look forward to our Trophy Cabinet which will be arriving any day. We will also be discussing costs of a notice board outside to attract members and the possibilities of hosting County Matches once the parks new cafe/bistro is built.
